One Block is a variation of Skyblock where everything begins with a single block in the void. When you break it, a new one appears in the same spot, and so on endlessly. From this single source the player gathers resources, builds a platform and gradually grows. The key feature is phases: as you mine, the block moves through stages (plains, caves, ocean, the Nether and others), each dropping new materials, mobs and items. This turns a simple idea into addictive progression.

One Block is a survival mode in which the player stands on a single block in the middle of the void. A broken block instantly respawns in the same place, giving an endless but strictly measured source of resources. Everything the player has is mined from this one block: wood, stone, ores, food. From its relative Skyblock, One Block takes the idea of surviving "from nothing", but pushes the limit to the extreme — instead of a small island there is just one point of support.
The key mechanic of One Block is phase progression. The more blocks you mine, the further you advance through stages, and the block begins to yield the contents of a new biome or dimension: grass is followed by stone and ores, then more dangerous and richer phases. The set and order of phases depend on the particular server, so two One Block projects can feel different. This system gives a clear goal — reach the next phase — and a constant sense of growth.
How to play One Block
The mode is simple to pick up, but completing it takes a long time. Start — you appear on one block with no resources. Mining — you break the block, it respawns, and you collect what drops. Expansion — from what you mine you build a platform so you do not fall into the void. Phases — as you progress the block moves to new biomes with better resources and new mobs. Goal — advance through the phases, develop your base, take up the economy and automation. Falling into the void is the main danger, so the first steps are taken carefully.
One Block and classic Skyblock: the difference
Both modes are about surviving in the void, but the starting conditions differ. In classic Skyblock the player gets a small island with a tree, some dirt and a couple of items: resources are limited and must be carefully cycled (for example, through automatic farms). In One Block the island is replaced by a single respawning block, and resources come in a continuous stream, but their makeup is dictated by phases. Skyblock is more about inventive economy and automation from a scarce set, One Block is about gradually unlocking the new. Which mode is more interesting depends on what suits you: making do with limits or unfolding progression.
